Was gonna go home today, but checked out of my air bnb and stayed the night at bj’s
Dan picked me up today! Then we dropped my stuff off at bj’s, watched some kids music videos (like the hulk one!), anf watched some Daughty, and some mashups from Neil Cicigera
Then went to Woking, to the Big Apple! It had lots of arcade machines. We did:
- Wack a mole!
- Shooting hoops with the yellow pac man balls
- BJ and Dan did a scary one, while I played a shoot Aliens game with Brody! He didn’t have a coin but he played along well, and when we were done we had another go!
- Me and Brody also did a machine gun dinosaur one, with big guns with 2 handles that vibrate when you shoot
- Me and bj did snowboarding!
- Me and Dan did Mario kart, first vs then coop, and later I played against bj versus!
- We also played that table hockey game where you bounce slidey pucks into each others goals, I got tired pretty quick though, feeling old!
And then…
- After, we went to taco Bell! Brody helpes fill my drink, he pushed the buttons and everything! and there was a spill but that was ok
- In taco Bell, we talked for a bit about William and parenting styles
- After, we were gonna go to the big main pub, but it was closed so we went to the fancy golf course one
- Along the way to that, bj was talking about the things parents would never know about looking after babies, like how old they can be before they can have milk, and how you should position a newborn in their cot.
- While we were there I talked to Dan a little bit about how, I dunno if I want kids now, being with Brody has swung me strongly both against at first, but also massively for after I got used to having a little one to pay extra attention to
- When bryony sat down, we sent her orange juice back cause they had watered it down! And she asked me if I miss Dora, is said nope not really. But it took time to realise the special stuff we had, as in, after being with Sam I understood how unique our weirdness was. I also said that I realised, again after Sam, that too often I’ve been the provider for emotional stuff, and whatever my needs are (I dunno them yet) haven’t quite been met
- We talked briefly about how it’s hard when, for example, I found out about marilyn manson cause it ruined a lot of his music for me in a way – I told Dan not to watch that main documentary!
- After that pub, we went home, Dan started feeling really sick.
- Dan went and had a big nap, he came back to watch the football (Man U vs.?), we watched a bit of Louis CK before the football started, it was OK, the TV show was better than the stand up
- A bit later bj had felt like she was gonna poo her bowels out, her tummy was making lots of growls!
While Dan watched the football, after Brody had gone to bed, me and bj played games together!
- We played CTR, which was good, it was most fun when we were more evenly matched and on close position to each other
- We also played Castle Crashers, which I think bryony liked! But we died on the water level!
- We played Skullgirls, bj just mashed and she beat me most times!
- We played Overcooked and bryony got super stressed, it was so funny! And she couldnt believe it was just the tutorial!
- Then finally we played Ultimate Chicken Horse, that was crazy fun and we both laughed so hard!
- Generally it was just amazing playing with bj, seeing her freak out over stressful bits like playing Overcooked or making any jumps in Ultimate Chicken Horse! I dunno if we can get anything close to that kinda fun online, but we’ll definitely have to try!
A few other bits I remember:
- Being sat on the sofa with Brody and Coda, esp. when Brody was leaning on me, I felt so special! (like when watching Bananas on Pajamas)
- We went for a walk and I saw Brody’s pre school, then on the way back me and him just talked, like about a story with ducks and swans and hippos and giraffes. He just charred away to me, it was so lovely!
- Also there was a moment when I told bryony about what I’d said to granny, and we talked about heavy stuff, pretty briefly though while Dan was napping, it was good cause we said a lot in a little time and it was easy breasy
- Brody had a bath after the long walk and showed me his color changing cars!
